While my wife would say I have plenty of laptops (and she's right, of course), I find myself looking for a new one. While I currently have 12 of them around the house, none are over 266 MHz, only one has a USB port (it also has a broken screen), nine currently have no hard drive, seven have no power supply, and I'm planning on selling at least five in the next couple of months.
The new laptop would have to be relatively current, as I'd like to use it for web browsing, game playing, and experimentation, and would like it to have at a minimum:
- 1.4 GHz processor
- 512 MB memory (I guess since memory's cheap I could upgrade to this later)
- 40 GB hard drive
- DVD-ROM drive
- USB 2.0 hi-speed ports
- Onboard 10/100 NIC
I'm sure there are some other things I should include in there, but I can't think of them right now. So, if anyone has any suggestions or good places to buy, I'd appreciate it. I know Dell has some pretty good deals pretty often on new laptops, but I wouldn't mind used if it meets my requirements.
