Creative Commons
I've become interested in the Creative Commons license, which allows reuse of works with restrictions you determine. This allows free distribution and collaboration, while reserving some rights, such as attribution, whether the work can be sold, whether a derived work can be made, and whether that derived work will be subject to the same license. Some great resources are available which use the CC license:

* The Prelinger Archives- A collection of >1600 public domain films (advertising, educational, industrial, and amateur)
* Berklee Shares- Free music lessons developed by Berklee College of Music faculty & alumni
* Opsound- "Record label" for Creative Commons artists
* Common Content- A catalog of Creative Commons content
