| Earlier this year, our library started stocking Mental_floss , which I definitely recommend checking out (pun unintended, but welcome). This bi-monthly magazine is chock full of information -- and a lot of it's actually useful! You'll find a good bit of trivia as well, and lots of things to annoy your spouse with, like a constant barrage of "Did you know...?". It also includes a feature [www.mentalfloss.com/sixdegrees/] each issue where Ken Jennings (of Jeopardy fame) relates two disparate things using six degrees of separation, and it's usually pretty interesting and entertaining. Note: It's a little on the expensive side ($22 for six issues a year), so you'll probably want to stop by the website and/or your library and/or your local bookstore to look through it first. |
